country dreamin

a few months ago, one of my parents life long dreams came true. ever since they were first married they wanted land to till, creek beds to explore, meadows to walk in, and old barns to fix up. they found a place only a few miles away from their little Bit of Heaven and fell in love with it. i wouldn't say that they fell in love with the 1960's house or the miles of dilapidated fencing or the piles of endless junk left from previous owners... they fell in love with the country meadows, sprawling grassland (which didn't sit on the side of a hill) and original barn from the 1800's that still stood on the property. this country dream became know as the North 40.

with all this said we have fallin in love too. it is so fun, now that the weather is warming up to head over after work and spend a few hours on the property. spend Saturday afternoon's exploring west plum creek. not that there hasn't been plenty of hard work and frustration that has come along with fixing up the North 40, but somehow it becomes all worth it, when you know that it was part of your blood and sweat making it what you one day know it will become.

cleaning out the cellar and barn we found some great treasures that now reside in our house. here are some of the pictures of the fun items that i "just had to bring home".

andy and i have started country dreamin too... it is so fun to think about our future there.
