Vacation!

Last week we had the opportunity to go on a road trip with my side of the Family to Chicago and Pella, Iowa, a town where my Dad's family grew up. First we drove straight through to Chicago, my dad had a business meeting so we decided to go along and keep my mom and Jesse company. We were right on Michigan Avenue so we had great access to the river, Lake Michigan, and the Navy Pier. It was great to get away and live in the big city for a couple of days. After Chicago we went to Pella, Iowa and visited my dad's relatives. We spent time touring a windmill, eating dutch pastries, and getting our share of my dad's grandpa's meat recipe. It was a great way to end the summer and a much needed getaway from all of the business here at home.
